I am looking into buying this conn tranny and the seller has stated he wasn't sure whether it was gold plate or lacquer over silverplate. I think it's lacquer over silverplate myself. What do you guys think?

Looks like lacquer over silver. Since it is coming off, it should be OK to take it apart and unlacquer. I had a Chu and a Buescher soprano that I redid.
