Know of any VI tenors for sale?

Hi. I currently play an 86xxx VI tenor. I'll admit, its a beast. I still want to try some other ones though, as this is the only one I've really played for any duration of time (a while). I am adopting this mindset from Brecker, who was always trying new equipment. I KNOW that he had throat issues to work around, but still. If there is something better out there.. I WANT IT! haha Seriously though, it isn't distracting me from my music studies, so does anyone know of any Mark VI tenors for sale. I am stranded on the UNT campus in Denton, TX, so the closer the better, and I would HAVE to try it first. I may find that my tenor is the best one in the world, but there is also a good chance that there is a better horn out there....

So, if you lack in attention (haha) I am just wondering if anyone knows someone near Denton, TX that is selling their VI (tenor).

Take a trip to Tenor Madness. Really, I don't care if you don't have a car. This is serious business. You need a Road Trip!

Ditto the Doctor. Randy had an incredible array of VIs.
Yes, do it and get it over with, or, you may be cursed to always wonder...
...and while you're there, try a Balanced or Super Balanced. If that doesn't cure you of your six-itis then probably nothing will.
Haha. thanks guys. I'm currently trying to figure out how to go about visiting Tenor Madness.. If I go though, I will most definitely have a field day and play everything hes got there. Haha. thanks again
I see you're in PA, at least some of the time

Drive over to Columbus, OH, and visit Dave at Junkdude music. He always has a few.
I have a VI 145,xxx tenor that is an absolutely HUGE horn. It has been completely stripped of its lacquer (by its previous owner). I bought it from Tim at Sax Alley 2 1/2 years ago where he described it as the biggest sound VI tenor he's ever heard. Too bad you don't live near NY...You might be tempted, and it has been said, "everything is for sale (or trade), for the right price!"...

I doubt it -not in one day.

Actually, if you can express what you are looking for, Randy can save you (and him) a lot of time. He KNOWS his tenors. He could probably narrow it down to, oh, many that you will enjoy. :D
I was just on the Tenor Madness website, and they do not actually have that many tenors. At least half of them have been sold. Although I guess 17 mark VIs and a couple of SBAs is a lot...
Yeah, I called the store and he has way more, but he hasn't posted them all yet.

Also, I've decided not to try horns yet. Maybe in a few years when I graduate.

there are many more horns in Randy's basement than on the website...so dont let that mislead you on selection...
