He was my teacher for a few years, I wish I had followed his lessons more diligently. He is a virtuoso on the horn.

I did just that this past Wednesday when I was visiting Toronto on vacation. He had a quartet at The Rex. Good food, good drink, and great jazz! What a monster player!! He deserves to be on everyone's listening list.

Kirk is a Canadian legend up here. He does an annual gig with Pat LaBarbera on Coltrane's birthday which is always fun.

Kirk has recently been writing for big band etc., and there are some great youtube clips about that as well
