I noticed this listing on eBay. NO.... this post really has nothing to do with this Super 20 being for sale. What caught my attention was the fact is is a Cleveland model ser# 427130. My Super 20 is an Eastlake model ser# 427272. This really narrows down the serial number break between the Cleveland and Eastlake models. I just thought some of you other Super 20 lovers would find it interesting as well.

That's interesting Smokey, that one you spotted on eBay could have been one of the last built at the Cleveland plant?

You purchased yours new in 1968, were you aware of the King factory moving to Eastlake at that time? Did it make any difference to you buying an Eastlake manufactured sax?

Do you recall how much you paid for it?

The interesting thing would be to compare yours to the eFlay one...see if there are any differences whatsoever. With serials that close to each other, I would doubt it greatly. So we now know the numbers where the change in facilities occurred. Thanks for sharing that.

To further narrow down the Cleveland serial numbers , I just saw an ended Cleveland Zephyr alto listing on ebay with #427210. If your Eastlake is 427272 that means the shift from Cleveland to Eastlake happened within the 62 saxes made between them. (ebay link wouldn't post) I believe the Zephs and S20 used the same serial number order. I think I read the King Cleveland brand had a seperate "Cxxxxxx" serial number code. Just passing on some info.
