Hey everyone,

I just bought a new soprano, and it's awesome in just about every way, except that the keys are way too slippery for me to play with any sense of control. Not just the key pearls, but the pinky spatulas and side keys, as well. It's just a standard gold laquer finish on the horn, nothing special, and the key pearls are mother of pearl.

Have any of you ever had this problem? Is there anything that can be done to fix this?

Thanks,

Craig

I can appreciate what you're trying to say, but that's simply not true. This was never a problem on other sopranos I've played, including plenty of Mark VI's, several Yamaha 62's, a curved Saxgourmet and my old communist Luxor. I'm really at a loss.

Look, at the very most they may have sprayed some silicone or teflon on some parts and that may have left a thin coat on the touches, but nobody would make a sax “ too slippery” and it certainly looks normal.

Wipe it with well, several times with a good dry soft cloth.
