Kalaparusha is a saint.

Around 2005, he brought his trio ( The Light) to a small venue near me, in the dead of winter.
His tuba player didn't make it because of weather, so he and his drummer, the beautiful Ravish Momin, played to an audience of 2 : me and my wife.

It was one of the most beautiful nights of music I can recall and it gives me goosebumps today to remember it.

Let's give him his flowers now, millions of them, while he can enjoy them.

I just watched it. Hadn't planned to spend 20 minutes right now but it was very compelling. I've dug him for years. He has an amazing thing, maybe its the depth of heart he plays from, it sure isn't his equipment.
I'm glad he's still around and has someone watching his back.

He somehow musters up a beautiful sound against all the diversity he's been handed.......
