Jupiter SAS models were made between about 1985-1990. Add 1 to the first number of the serial number to determine the year.
For example, serial no. 6xxxxx means the sax was made in 1987. You can check the other threads in this forum and the internet for more detail on serial numbers.
The SAS 767 was the top-of-the-line model during that period. The 800 series Jupiters only came out in the 90's.

I own one as well & am debating passing it down to my nephew.
I won't be of much help to you bmatney but I am looking for information as well.
I have two saxophones & am debating between the two: a Bundy II & the Jupiter SAS-767.
I know the Jupiter is made in 1987 but I want to know more information & can't seem to find any.
Just in my opinion, the Jupiter sound quality is actually better than the Bundy.
