Hi. My friend has a bari sax. The only engraving is on the bell - "Jul. Heinr. Zimmermann Leipzig-Berlin". The neck is non-removeable (sorry, I don't know any other explanation in english)
Does anyone know something about this bari? thanks..

while I was researching this brand I found an old thread, anyway, Zimmermann was one of the largest Companies selling (if not making) many types of musical instruments made throughout Europe sometimes in their factories and sometimes in other people's factories. Their catalogues were fascinating ( like the Sear's but specialised in musical instruments and publishing musical editions..........they still are publishing music to this day although they no longer make musical instruments ).

They had a major foothold in Russia (hence, most probably, the OP find) and ended up their history of instrument makers being one of the major Balalaikas (!!!) outside Russia.
