i never would have guessed it. even after being clued-in, i can't say i can distinguish it, though it must be in there giving body to the general murk. (course i love the saxes on Good Morning, Lady Madonna and even the purposely overcooked section on Savoy Shuffle.)

Such information should be noted in the Beatles Anthology book. I can't recall reading this, but it has been a long time since I read it.

I enjoy Brian Jones from the Rolling Stones' tenor sax performance on The Beatles' novelty song "You Know My Name." Likewise, I had never heard about John Lennon on tenor on Helter Skelter. I'm going to relisten.

What is the source of this claim?

(among others; i don't see nothing about "mouthpiece sound effects" on latter. though that would make sense. i just saw someplace where he sent Mal out to pick up a couple of horns.)
Thanks. That wiki article seems quite thin - all second hand “knowledge” without citation.

I just found this as well: https://www.udiscovermusic.com/artists/ringo-starr/
