If this has been discussed previously in the forum, I couldn't locate it.

The last home of John Coltrane, located in Dix Hills, New York on Long Island, has been acquired by a non-profit foundation for the purpose of restoring and preserving the home. You can read details of the efforts at http://www.dixhills.com.

Of particular interest to some of you here might be the request for information concerning a saxophone that's in a photo of the home taken while the Coltrane family still lived there. It shows an alto saxophone. I emailed Steve Fulgoni, the creator of the site, to let him know my conjecture that it's the Yamaha prototype that the company gave to Coltrane when he toured Japan in 1966 and to direct Steve to this thread. Can anyone confirm my suspicions or provide the correct information if I am wrong?
