YES. Very sad news and we know how unsung Joe Lee was.
I will toast him and his greatness as a jazz artist and warrior in jazz.
He opened the 100-seat Ladies' Fort in a basement on Bond Street in Lower Manhattan, known as jazz lofts. He was a savior in NYC JAZZ and a kind soul. On top of that his voice was one I always loved and wished I could hear more of.
