Hello Sax nation,
I'm looking for the chart for Joe Jackson's "You can't get what you want, if you don't know what you need." The band I'm playing with just brought this up tonight and I simply don't have the time to transcribe it. I work in retail and life is hell for me right now:(
Thanks,
Jeff

I'm going to apologize in advance because what I'm going to say is not what you want to hear and it may annoy you. I searched on utube for the tune and listened to it. It's a good tune with some nice horn parts. It's fairly simple, not complicated. It seems to me that if you spent an hour playing along with the recording you'd get the horn lines and the chord progression dialed in much sooner than spending that much time or more on the internet waiting for someone to tell you where to find the chart, then getting the chart and running through it several times to get it down.

I am not annoyed by your response at all. It's just that right now, I do not have the time to sit down and play along and listen like I would like to, hence the reason for the post orginally. I just now got home from work and have to be back in 8 hours and can't play my horn at 1:50am. Believe me I wish I could, but I work in retail and deal with a whole bunch of you know what.

Well, got lucky last night. We worked up "A-Train" and "Satin Doll" last night for an upcoming 90th b-day gig so I didn't have to worry about the Jackson tune. Now I'll have time to really sit down and listen to it. Thanks to everybody for their advice. Happy Holiday's to all Sax Nation!!
