Hi
I wanted to see if its worth looking into a jody jazz classic. Can anybody tell me how they stack up against other mouthpieces? I currently play a Meyer 5M that I seriously love. How do jody jazz mouthpieces compare?

If it helps, I play a 1941 conn 6M VIII.

Thanks! :)

They're pretty nice pieces. LOUD. Even without the spoiler. I had one on trial along with some other pieces and it was one of my favorites. Not the most versatile piece, pretty much only does the bright kind of thing. Still very nice and very easy to get a big sound out of. Might not work so hot with your 6M though, it has a fairly small chamber and high baffle.

A Jody Jazz classic or Runyon custom will work very well on your conn, but will be much more focused, compact and brighter than a Meyer.

But, if you love your Meyer, why change??

My experience with the JodyJazz Classic was not as good. The mouthpiece was not loud or powerful at all. The spoiler only made it "tinnier".
