Central Michigan University, Michigan State University, Grand Valley State University...
Those are the best if you are interested in going to school in the 'Mitten State'. :)

Check McGill. I know they have renowned academic programs (although I'm not sure business is one of them, but I wouldn't be surprised) and a great Jazz program. worth a look, but keep in mind that it's outside of the US.
Yeah they have a great jazz program for sure. Business and management are highly spoken of too although among the most expensive majors you can do. Although still probably cheaper than any good American school...

I've never thought of a business program as 'good' or 'bad'.:)

This brings thoughts of 'Yeah, man I went to NYU to study business and management with Peter Drucker. He ROCKED.'

Alan Greenspan was a saxophone player and played in Jack Teagarden's orchestra ......too bad that next to him a good friend of his, Stan Getz who, despite Alan's virtues and efforts, outplayed Greenspan, so eventually he decided to take to business rather than music.

The world lost a saxophone player and gained a guy who..........did what he did (we can't talk politics here :bluewink:!)

Anway, the bank crisis was Stan Gets's fault! Had he not being in the same orchestra maybe Greenspan would have played the saxophone rather than the financial markets.

Cool anecdote!

Thanks for the replies. I'm already applying to Rowan, and Rutgers wouldn't let me do a double major with jazz and accounting. I was told that Willy P's business program was not that great. I'll definitely check out those Michigan colleges. Idk about McGill or Arizona.

I nominate this thread as a candidate to win the award for "most unlikely SOTW thread title of the year". :)
It reminds me of a joke from the Sopranos, "What do you call a plane full of accountants? A Boring 727".

The last time I taught, (years ago), I thought of asking some of the students what they thought about studying business 'cause they sure couldn't play and these were college kids.

Funny, I thought you were looking for music programs that included courses on the financial/accounting side of the business. I wonder how well university music programs do cover that side of things. I know that here in Canada many college music programs tend to be more business oriented?

FWIW: McGill is my alma mater (BA and MA); it's an awesome school and Montreal is an incredible city to live in.

ps.
