Counterfeit bootleg CDs of Rooty's performance at the annoying guitarist jam session! Mrs. RTT's cellphone version! Is Mrs. RTT in collusion with copyright infringers from the PRC? I suggest you get full disclosure of her telephone records.:D

this could be her retaliation for your stockpile of Saxophones of Mass Destruction under the bed!

Hey, dont listen to those spoilsposts....my first Tenor was Chinese (a "Grand" in two tone nickel no less ), and it was perfectly OK for the money.

Let us know what you think when it arrives.

I was tempted to destroy the evidence. But i think i might keep it so next time i'm tempted to slate someone's recording for being out if tune i can play it back to myself and gain some perspective. :D

On topic: A breeding pair of Giant Chinese Hamsters, perhaps?

Rowka, over here that tracking info "Your item arrived in the.." is usually followed shortly after by "Your item cleared Customs..." (hopefully without charges). They usually scan the parcels when they come out of the pod, and are then passed to Customs for cursory inspection, which seems to be where your info has stalled.

Could be it's stacked up waiting for Customs clearance, unusual tho' to have long delays outside holiday periods - wouldn't hurt to make a few phone calls. Start with USPS - is that who delivers incoming parcels, and are you tracking it from their website ? They should be aware of any delays , wherever... Look in the phone book for the local depot, they have real people there, not robotic help-desks - as long as you have the Customs/tracking number someone will double check for you, their own system often has more info than is displayed on the tracking website.

If the delivery address on the box is slightly wrong, they may never find you unless you phone - although there's normally other 'at local depot' and 'out for delivery' info, even with a wrong address.

Could just be there's a big Customs backlog, either overworked, security, or maybe bureaucratic pettiness over Chinese imports. Maybe the guy sitting on it has a Chinese Mother-in-law ? :)

Good Luck, Alan..

P.S. - 'Sods Law' usually means that whilst you're on the phone checking, the delivery man is banging your door with it, and you're shouting "just a minute, I'm on the phone..." to him !

P.P.S. if anything above sounds patronising, or if you know the process, apologies - I thought some real info would be better than the other wise-**** comments above, although possibly meant to make you feel better whilst you wait ?

Thanks, Alan.
It's the USPS and I'm tracking it through their web site.
Their tracking system is notoriously useless for in-transit tracking.
Often a package gets accepted and put into the system then doesn't get updated until after it has been delivered.

Now, to figure out who to call...

Rowka - yes, the Chinese package is probably classified by USPS as equivalent to an "Air Parcel". Slightly above "Surface" in the pecking order (that "p" word isn't rude over here...), but not much ! So all the faster ones take priority, including expediting thro' Customs.

I've noticed that if the USPS shipping method has "Global" or "Express" as the first word, the parcel gets scanned at every handling, whereas Air Parcel gets scanned once at the Post office, and once when it goes into the Airport pod.... In between is an enigma - a slow enigma.

And when I said "Maybe the guy sitting on it has a Chinese Mother-in-law", I didn't mean that literally !

It'll arrive, it's just the "black hole" syndrome...... Relax, it's in US hands now, nothing can go wrong :D

Sod's law indeed.
It was waiting for me when I got home.
It does look like customs opened it up. It was removed from the inner wrapping (thebwrappind was wadded up and stuffed in the case) and the key wedges were removed and put in the acc. compartment.
It seems solid enough but will need a set up for sure. Looks like it was really man-handled.
