Apparently, I’ve been here on SOTW for twenty years. It’s actually longer than that. I was on sometime in the late nineties, but there was a major crash and reset in 2003, IIRC.

I’ve been a bit less active here in the past few years, but I do still stop in on a pretty much daily basis.

Wow! That’s an average of one post every 1.865 days (or .54 posts per day) during these past 7309 days! Congratulations! And Thank you for your contributions to the sax community.

I better get busy. Since joining SOTW 6,222 days ago, I’ve only averaged one post every 17.4 days or .05 posts per day.

Whoa, long time I just noticed I joined on Feb 6 2003, I think I was on in the '90s as well so part of the reset I guess.
I have learned a lot in that time and retained very little of it. LOL

I'm at 20 years as well, but like Merlin, I started in the late 90's on eeSites. I think the wayback machine still has some of those posts. IIRC, the Runyon forum was particularly active. It's also where I learned about reed drilling from Bootman.

Another long timer here. (I started to write old-timer but erased it). Definitely remember Bootman, reed drilling and Runyon mania. I also remember the group spending a lot of time on the intricacies of identifying vintage horns and mouthpieces. We're probably largely responsible for driving up prices of closet horns and pawn shop finds!

HaHa! This post made me look at my "join date" which also was 20yrs ago (3/7/2003). I remember reading many of Merlin's posts. Especially about doubling and the cruise ship gig(s). I looked back at some of my first posts / responses and laughed when I came across the "open hole vs closed hole flute" discussion which has been raging for 20yrs. Probably just as prolific and entertaining is the effect of the sax finish relative to tone posts.

I guess a lot of us forum veterans probably have a similar date, given the restart of things.

Harri would chime in often back in the day. We miss you Harri. Bootman was a great friend, gave good saxophone advice. I remember a sax player named Paul in Morgan City La too. Steve Goodson in New Orleans was a regular poster also. But I don’t remember Grumps… 🤔 My guess is he was sharpening his chops busking 😁

Congrats to all who clocked 20 years here. Wish you all another 20 in good health, blessings, bliss, educative and entertaining post.
How time flies! I've have been here for close to that too. I first joined in 2009 but was not active and lost that account. I kept reading as a guest for years and decided to open current username about 10 years ago.
