Normally I play with a selmer S80 C* mouthpiece , now I got this wagner slimline 5 mouthpiece with an old rico V2 reed and all of a sudden I can play very softly and airy with this combination

I tried this mouthpiece with a vandoren blue 2 and 2.5 and 3 but almost impossible to get notes out , the sax is a yamaha

Yep, that's sub-toning. It can be done in any register.

This reeds is about 30 years old , this is what is called a Mature reed ...:mrgreen:
Mature or Manure?

Man, you are braver than me, I wouldnt be putting that thing anywhere near my mouth. The sooner you find a soft replacement the better!
