Is this a relacquer?

This is a good price (in the UK!!) for 95% original lacquer "The Martin Alto"

Is it the original finish? Mine is much, much darker bronze, and my engraving is sharper

Hard to tell from photos I know, but what do you think??

It seems to good to be true from a 40's horn....

Agreed - looks like a relac.

Nice looking horn though-

Only really matters if you're a collector or purist. My The Martin tenor is a relac and it's a great horn.
