A CONN 30M should have lacquered brass keys throughout with silver touch points. And a ton of adjustment screws.

The ONLY thing that makes a 30M any different from a 10M is those keys.
Those keys are pretty fancy, and very cool. And kind of expensive I imagine.

Anybody else notice nickel plated keys on this 30M body?
Ever see those on a Conn 30M? Looking like 16M keys to me.
Hence the title of the thread. Equal parts 30M and 16M.

I guess it is more like a 13M. Equal parts 10M and 16M.
30M body is just a 10M body with RTH, right?

FWIW.... I am not particularly strafing this listing, myself.

To me, it appears to clearly be a 30M which had its keys refinished at some point. If it's a relacq it doesn't look like a particularly bad one, at least from the pics provided.

A lot of folks have mutilated Conn's old G# alt key in one way or another (although it's usually easier just to remove the entire apparatus and leave the 2 endposts...I have certainly seen touch amputations before as well).

Price high ? Yes.

But given what rth 10M's were going for in the first quarter of this year, I don't see seller as being any greedier than a lot of folks have been....plus by virtue of fact he accepts offers, he knows he isn't gonna get $2700....

OK...wait.....:|

:|

....I just now saw the Penny soldered over the Fork Eb hole....and the key barrel of the former Fork Eb key is gone. Which means either the Fork Eb touch which is floating atop the low E key flops there loosey-goosey, or it was glued or soldered to the E keycup, or some mickey mouse thing was done to the foot end of that keytouch to keep it somewhat stationary.......

So I take 85% of what I said above...back.

Seller has not disclosed any of this, and he absolutely HAS to, really.

This (partially hacked) 30M is worth maybe $1300.....providing it plays well (which interestingly, is also not clearly addressed...."Pads are in good used condition, good wear left" is in NO way synonymous with "horn speaks up and down properly".)

"Left thumb rest has been replaced with a polished coin silver disc for a more modern feel"....

Yeah ?

maybe....SHOW it, a-hole.....(?)

So, strafe away.....
