Hoping someone can help here...

I was using a regular iPad for recording myself in garage band, through a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and a mic, via a USB POWERED HUB in order to power the iPad and the 2i2 without draining the battery on the iPad, etc.
Through another port on the hub I hooked up my Yamaha keyboard to bring in MIDI as another ‘channel’.
This is used to record in GarageBand.

I decided to upgrade myself to an iPad Pro 12.9”, which has a USB-C connection.
My current USB hub does not have enough power to power the iPad Pro, so trying to find a POWERED USB-C hub that has at least two regular USB ports, can power the iPad and 2i2, and that someone KNOWS will work and is good quality.
The only ones I am finding in reviews either say they are quirky and have issues or have 100W of power and really meant to power a MacBook (100W) vs. the iPad Pro (18-36W).

Does anyone know what I can swap out my USB hub to so this will work?
Is the 100W too much power to charge the iPad (thinking it might harm the battery life, etc).

Thank you

The iPad determines how much power to draw from a charger, not the other way around. I routinely use my my 2019 MacBook Pro charger (87W) to charge my 12.9 iPad Pro. According to Apple this is all good.

I just got the 2i2 and I’m doing the same thing with garageband. So far just bass guitar and the iPad is powering the 2i2 all by itself. I haven’t needed to get a dongle to a wall out for power. So far the iPad itself can power the Interface for hours all by itself. I imagine with a microphone it will drain the battery more.
How’s it worked out for you so far? Right now I’m having an insane time trying to figure out if garage band iOS Can Loop audio files. Loop as in verb not loop as a noun. It’s driving me nuts !! I search for “ looping Audio track in garage band”. and all I find is endless information on turning songs into little 8 bar loops .
