Hi everyone.
Just bought this old vintage tenor mpc that someone in his mid 80 s . Audio equipment Gas Auto part Muffler Electronic component

Rails and tip are absolutely great on it,and plays super well.
Has a rich sound with very nice character.
For a 6* ,gees this piece really has great power too!
I was very impress from first minute i played it.
I have looked this one up,but not much on it,and this is the first one i ve seen in all the years i ve been trading mpcs..and trying tenor mpcs,,and i have had lots of tenor mpcs.
In the pic,,it is right beside my Stubby,
All the best

They are the same as LeLandais mouthpieces. Nothing like BD Hollywoods.
I have one but it's just ok. It plays but not nearly as good as a short shank Dukoff.
Whaler, when you say short shank Dukoffs,,which model are you referring?

This one here plays absolutely well. Has great character, and very close in sound to my Stubby, with more power, even as a 6*, my Stubby is a 110.
My Stubby Dukoff which is right besise it in the pics is also an amazing mpc,but that Woodwind NY i would say has a similar richness ,but with a bit on the more Linkish vibes. Hard to explain, but certainly this is a great mpc!

Whaler may be accurate. I do know that theo states on his site that the woodwind co bought 200 1945 dukoffs and sold them under their name. Cant say much more.
I had one of the Woodwind Dukoffs. It was the same as the short shank "stubby". They can be great mouthpieces in smaller tips. They really get dark if they're more than a 5*. The best I had was a 4* short shank Dukoff but I wasn't really playing it and a friend really wanted it. I should've kept it anyway.
I still have a 5* just because it's one of the mouthpieces I think every tenor player should have.

Very treu Whaler
They are very underated i guess.
Such a great mpc,i am telling you for a 6* it is an amazing piece.
In colour of sound very close to my Atubby, but definitely more powerfull..and can play so soft,,,and easy...
Though,i really don t think that this is a Dukoff by Woodwind.
Dont know what they were called.
Has nice round chamber, and walls too.

Hello
The blanks were made by Lelandais.
But who made the facing ? Lelandais or Woodwind or Dukoff ?
Best wishes
Valentin

He's referring to the Stubby.
AKA "Dukoff" in script. Hard to put a name when he didn't have any models labeled. We're like forensic saxophonists sometimes!

I've had a few of these my way and they are more like a Lawton in terms of the longer, smaller overall shape. Nice tight sound. VERY different than the BD small or large chamber pieces as well.

Sebastian here is an expert here.
Very treu Seb. that it is very different and to the Stubby much more narrow, and longer,,you can see clearly in my first picture.
And i did onwed a Hollywood Dukoff which was shorter also .
As for the sound, not sure how to describe, but it is very full, and large in character, and certainly not on the bright side overhaull.
If you push it in the high,it can sound i would say mid bright, but very nice,,not shrilling at all.. Super friendly with reeds too.

I think it is different,in my opinion.
Your shank is a little different, and even on the top, from my tip to where it goes up to the round part, mind seems longer.
I will try to put a picture of the surface of my Woodwind CO New York
Thanks
Mes salutations agrées
