Hey everyone! My buddy and amazing saxophonist Adam Larson has a new book out - "Leaps and Sounds vol. III" which is a continuation of his series of etudes he's written over changes to popular jazz standards. The book features crazy altissimo, huge jumps around the horn, really intricate harmonic ideas, and is a great workout for any player!

I gave his etude over Giant Steps a go, and...well...you'll see. Enjoy!

Excellent étude and excellent playing. You said “Kenny G” but just for a second. I’m guessing that’s because Kenny G’s material is for the more advanced player after they’ve mastered the Larson books.

Dave, For your next video could we please see you play that with the (superior ergonomics of the) Conn C Melody horn you've used in other videos. Thanks in advance. :p

It must be easier playing the tenor on these because it would be less Altísimo, correct?

I especially liked the part where you throw your horn and it shattered into a million pieces. Wait...did that happen?..I couldn't watch! Awesome!
