Hello,

Im currently looking for any and all information on Astro soprano yani's. I'm currently in the process of buying one, but I need some info on it first. I'd also like input from players who might have played this horn. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Curved or straight ? Serial Number ? (You might be able to tell what year it was made if the second digit of the serial number is a 7 eg. 07634567 was made in 1976... get it ?) Price ? Price vs condition is the main issue that you might need further research on, because there is no other reason I can think of why you shouldn't like this Soprano. By auction, these normally fetch between ~$550 and $1200 if straight; add a couple of hundred if curved...
Here is an example stencilled 'Martin':- http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yanagisawa-...761?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ec87e8669 which went for $999.00.
Others were stencilled 'Vito' or 'Whitehall'; No doubt 'Astro' wasn't the only other stencil either...
