Rinus Groeneveld plays tonight in Jazz Cafe Alto at 22:00 (he is great, don't miss it!):

Rinus is performing with his new quintet with the great trumpet player Loet van der Lee. He plays every style, his favourites are Arnett Cobb, Willis Jackson and Dexter Gordon, but he's also into blues/boogie/pop or whatever style. Give him my regards if you get to speak to him (Peter from Holland, he will know who you mean, I recently bought his old Ponzol mouthpiece).
Also, try to watch the World Cup soccer game Holland - Australia tonight in an Amsterdam cafe (somewhere around Leidseplein for example) or at a big screen in the city (Museum square has one I think). The match starts at 18:00 (Dutch time) and the city will be packed with orange flags and people wearing orange clothes. It will be big fun for sure

. Afterwards you could walk in about five minutes to Rinus in cafe Alto from both locations.
