Improv Thoughts

I was helping a student improvise over Doxy and just happened to write something like this on his chord sheet. It seemed to help him connect his ideas. What're you thoughts on this approach?

I see I missed an accidental or two in my hurry to get a rough shot at this up.

Thoughts?

Yup. Solid method that seems to work in many forms. This is a great way of familiarizing oneself with the sound of the tune. The arpeggios clearly illustrate the changes. Other similar methods are 1-2-3-5 on each chord. Obviously these don't make super compelling solos on their own, but definitely a great foundation for the ears and technique.
Interesting, and cool to know that it worked for this student. The fact that it helped someone reach a new level in their playing says it all.
