Improv Thoughts

I was helping a student improvise over Doxy and just happened to write something like this on his chord sheet. It seemed to help him connect his ideas. What're you thoughts on this approach? (not sure how else to post).

I see I missed an accidental or two in my hurry to get a rough shot at this up.

Yup. Solid method that seems to work in many forms. This is a great way of familiarizing oneself with the sound of the tune. The arpeggios clearly illustrate the changes. Other similar methods are 1-2-3-5 on each chord. Obviously these don't make super compelling solos on their own, but definitely a great foundation for the ears and technique.
Interesting, and cool to know that it worked for this student. The fact that it helped someone reach a new level in their playing says it all.
