Ape Walk on the Moon was written in the 1990's and recorded with friends near San Francisco. After the "trombone" intro, it has a head based on fourths staring at about 20 seconds in, then a section of whole-tone lines. It's fun to play on. I could also imagine it as a fast swing with the same melody. Here it's played by me on guitar synthesizer, Nate Ginsberg on keys, Victor Conte on bass and Ronnie Beck on drums. If those last two names sound familiar to sax players, it's because they were both in Tower of Power.
