open 4 Vandoren reed, and all of them shown dark color...
is that normal a good sign or bad......? attached photo

I have had good and bad experiences when they were that color. Most reeds I get like that are older reeds.
yes, they are very old reed. I bought it 2 years ago. Does it turn dark due to this reason? Vandoren has a air-sealed individual package for each reed..

My first instict and gut reaction to seeing reeds that look like that ... I wouldn't be psyched to have those. The one in the middle looks alittle green.

so it is a good sign or bad? does it show that it is a "young" reed (not seasoning enough?).

I've used reeds like that before, and they've the exact same. My thoughts are that it's just a discoloration, that simple.

The cane has probably started to degrade, air tight doesn't stop everything.

The reed is getting older...may be a but thing is too much older.

so, how old a reed should be at their "strong age"...
