Couple of months ago I purchased a Bundy H&A Selmer made by Keilwerth and because of covid my
tech was not taking jobs so I spent the whole stay at home playing on a
bari that really didn't play that well or in tune and i was starting to get discouraged a bit.

I finally got it back from my tech and he made the Bundy sound like the Julius Keilwerth New King that it is.

Extremely warm and fluid low Bb comes out in a whisper upon attack and nothing is loose and rattling.

I can play bebop to rock with different mouthpieces and finally can say I found a solid baritone I would take out
to perform on.

Happy Camper

So who's your tech? I'm not in your area, but it's always nice to know which techs do great work.

I bought a used bari off ebay that wasn't quite in the shape I expected, finally got it to a tech for a tune-up, best $100 I've ever spent, I think. It's a joy to play now. Still learning on the low notes, but vastly improved and way less frustrating.

I had a feeling that was what you were struggling with. That's fantastic bholder!

Months into the baritone and this instrument is perhaps my favorite obsession right now. I felt prior to buying a bari that baritone
would be all consuming because of it unique tonality and because its just damn fun to play.

Being able to play pp on low Bb will eventually allow me to play jazz casuals that require a soft volume.

Been working on relearning Bebop tunes on the baritone and I'm thinking this is where I should've been 30 years ago.
