I am in the process of preparing myself for latin band, and have a few questions. Firstly are there any 'must have' books out there that are your typical big band materials of latin origin that I should familar myself. ie. most common music known to the latin community or big band. Should i still worry myself with practice traditional jazz scales ie. diatonic fourth, II V I. dominat 7th chords, traids etc etc or rather which particular scales should i focus on?? any other tips you can offer would be great.
