I've offered to list a friend's mark vi on my ebay account, but the more I read about the subject, the less I realise I know about it!
So, I have this as a 117xxx tenor, early 60's (?)
The details;
Paris build, (no serial number on neck)
european engraved,
no F# key
not a relaq as the engraving is sharp. (?)
has been professionally chemically delaquered, more to improve sound than for cosmetic reasons (old laquer was dark and a bit untidy if I remember correctly)
The story;
The owner is a pro player(my ex-teacher and mentor) who makes this horn sound awesome. It has a fabulous sound. He seemed to be always looking for ways to improve his sound and has now bought another vi with a "different" sound (does that sound familiar!) and now has to sell this one before the missus finds out!
Here's a couple of pics. I have some mp3 bites but don't know how to post them for web access. (my server was less than helpful)
Your opinions,questions and help would be appreciated.
