how were they putting the pads in? no blowtorch involved?

i kinda wanna go work there! but i don't speak french ;)

That was very cool! I did not know that engraving was done before lacquer. Also interesting that posts are on a grid for the pro models. Also I did not know each one was play tested, even student models.

Tone Holes?

Did you see the guy with the tone hole flatenning tool ... buzz.. lift ... buzz .. lift ... all of 1 second for each hole. No wonder no tonehole is flat on any saxophone. Recently I discovered chatter marks from a tool like he was using and I was agast. HOrn was B&S "handmade in Germany"
