I am looking to sell my '72 Noblet bass clarinet, with low Eb key. Wood of course, mechanically excellent and sounds great. I can't find many of these for sale so I am hoping you experts here can give me a clue on this.
Thanks
Dana

I just did a completed search on Ebay. Most are "Needs Repair" or "Parts" The two were complete sold for between $500 and $600. Seems kinda low for a wood bass clarinet. I guess it's supply and demand thing.

I'd say this is about right if everything on it needs little to no work and if it is in pristine condition, maybe the 1K ceiling wouldn't be unrealistic. If it were a LeBlanc from the same era or earlier, then we're looking at 1.5 to 2K, if it's a really nice playing horn that one may have a preference over a similar vintage Selmer low Eb bass. Again we're talking priced to move or do a quick flip.

I should've read the posts more carefully. It's early out here. You HAVE checked online auctions. Anyway, $800-900.

I play an Eb Noblet bass, very pleased with it. I'm enjoying seeing the stock slowly rising!
I bought it so long ago, I can't recall the price paid; a reasonable sum, with a part exchange. This is the UK, though; a much smaller market.

Maybe a bit late but my alto (which are generally cheaper) in good playing condition sold for EUR 650 recently, so I think your bass is worth at least that (similar to what Lambros quoted). It did take a few months, though, to find a buyer.

I had one which I sold at around €900 some time ago, but much depends on where are you in the world, here in te NL there are few bass clarinets being played compared to the US but even less being offered.
