I was curious whether people generally stay with one teacher for a long time or bounce around learning bits and pieces from various folks. I also wonder whether this is different depending on how long someone has been playing.

I have two teachers. One has been about 7 months and the other about a month.

I did 4-5 yrs with my teacher when I was a kid in Jr HS/ HS. Then about 1 1/2 yrs ago I decided to learn all over again, bought a tenor, tracked him down and have been taking lessons again since then.

I had a teacher for 2 years at one time. At the last lesson he said "You're cured. Now go play." I did not believe him and went on to study at college.

I have been studying two years with my current teacher. I had one for 3 months, and then had one for 3 years. had another one for 6 months. I tend to stick with them for awhile.

Lol I have one teacher. Was with him for 1 1/2 years, moved, moved back, and with him for another 2 years.
