I always wanted a classical dark sound on my meyer 6m and never knew how. Can somebody tell me how? I use an yamaha 875ex (alto) rovner dark lig and vandoren tradtional reeds (3)

This is going to sound facetious. But a HR Otto Link with your dark lig and Vandoren reeds would make it a whole lot easier.

Work on long tones and subtly change your embouchure to figure out what you want in terms of sound.

I agree that a different mpc will make you darker overall but I second the motion in regards to embouchure adjustments. When I first got my ref 54 I played dark as all get out unless I stuck on a berg or a lawton. Currently, if so desired I can get a fairly bright sound out of a Link. Experiment with opening throat, breathing, how much mpc you take in...etc...

Try a Hemke 2 - 2 1/2; these reeds produce a darker sound than your typical reed. They'll even make a Dukoff sound huskier. Imagine that!

No, a third to a fourth of that. Place a WTB in the Marketplace for Sax mpc's and you should be set.
