History on old Emerson Flute

I have an old Emerson flute. I've been told it's quite old, but I'm trying to find out if there is anything special about this model. The G# lever looks like this:

Musical instrument Automotive lighting Wind instrument Motor vehicle Hood

This odd G# lever, plus the different sized G keys is what makes this stand out as different.

Serial: C65044, with a number "1" under the serial. It also says ELD Emerson USA on the body.

Does anyone know anything about this particular design, why it's like this and if there is any significance to it?

It is a basic model one student flute with a RF (Ray Fabrizio) mod.
Ray Fabrizio's widow and daughters are friends of mine here in California. A lasting legacy of family musicians!
