I was using Google Images to scan saxophone pics for a new desktop picture for my computer when I spotted this picture. The sax is obviously smaller than an alto but doesn't look like any curved Bb soprano I've ever seen. The info for the picture came up Fuzing.com which led to T.R. Musicals which seems to be some Indian (as in India) company that manufactures woodwind instruments. When I clicked on "saxophones", all I got was this picture (no description) and a button to click for "Inquire Now". I did go up to the company's description and they say they "...are a manufacturer of saxophone and clarinet." One clue as to what this is may be at the end of their company description where they list some of their products. In it, I found a listing for "baby saxophone" (???) Anybody ever hear of this company? What do you think it is? My guess is a soprano but it doesn't look right to me...

I pulled up T.R. Musicals on the search engine and found a picture of their alto (?) This one definitely doesn't look that great!

This junk has been coming from India for years now and has been talked about to great lengths on the site. Rather than referring to them as altos keyed only to low B, SSO is generally the accepted term for them: Saxophone Shaped Object.

Avoid at all costs.

I wasn't planning on purchasing one. I was just curious about what it was! The alto looks like something from the turn of the last century! I just couldn't figure out if that "baby sax" was a curved Bb or if it is keyed to something else (maybe F?) Either way, there's no pricing or anything!! I just posted it as a curiosity. Oh, even though cheap Indian junk may have been discussed rather thoroughly, for some strange reason the search function fails to come up with T.R.Musicals and using the key word "India" doesn't help alot either thus my confusion about this model. I appreciate the warning however!

Right now, I can go down to a local pawn shop and pick up a YAS-23 for $149.99 or a YTS-23 for $159.99 and I know that, with certain caveats towards leaking keys, I would be getting a decent player. I can't imagine going the ebay route and paying more for this stuff!

you can't warn the wannabe collectors enough about these, they show up regularly in markets and on the Dutch equivalent of craiglist.
They are , at best, simulacra of an ancient saxophone. They are mostly incapable of producing any sound and if they do they would sound awful.
they are often marked as:
F besson
brevete
s.g.d.g
96 rue D'angouleme
Paris
2073

they all have the same serial number!!!

Several people are given the idea that these were F saxophones........they aren't. Stay well away from them.
