Hello all,

A mate of mine were thinking of starting a small busking group. We have a few songs that we are considering however our play list is short. I can play flute and sax and my mate can play guitar and drums, we are high school students by the way. we would prefer to have just the two of us busking however if we can't find enough songs that can be done with a solo instrument and rhythm we can find a guitarist to help fill in more. Any suggestions of good songs- any genre- would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Will

Where will you be doing this? If you're doing it outside bars and nightclubs, you might want a different approach than if you're doing it in shopping malls. As a disclaimer, I should tell you I'm not a busker, but I pay buskers when they do things I like!

Do Aussies sing, "In Heaven There is No Beer"? That's a fun one that you can ad lib on -- sounds like a big party.

You would think the King of Jazz would know these things.

Misty

Tequila

Ma Cheri Amour.

Lots of ballads. They love ballads.

Pink Panther theme.

Europa.

First pose the question to your audience/customers then ask each other which of those tunes you actually like and can perform well...
