ok heres the problem.
i play alto sence 6th grade and for 8th and 9th grade ive played bari and alto for marching. recently ive been practising altissimo on my alto got to first b so far (same fingering work on bari)and all of a sudden my bari sounds so much richer, but my alto sounds so bright not a nasty bright a really nice bright but its just not what it used to sound like. i just want an explination.

well i think that while practicing altissimo you have unintentionally altered your embochure in a good way, which is pretty cool.........in most cases i would say that i cant believe you ALLOWED your embochure to be changed by something like this, but for you i say all the better.

i have no idea if altissimo can help your tone for your whole range at all because i have not practiced it enough to find improvement like that from it.

maybe someone else here can give an explanation if im wrong at all
