I just had another look at the object which was firmly stuck and gave it a good knock with the end of a screwdriver and out dropped the rusted up key for the case, it must have been there years. Can you believe it the original owner must of been playing the sax for years with that key lodged in the bore, it was so rusted it had become unrecognisable and to rusty to work the lock on the case when it came out, the guy lost his case key and never even stopped to think. So how long is it since you looked down the bore of your sax you never know what you might find in there, maybe that favourite mouthpiece your thought got nicked is stuck up there somewhere giving that unusual buzz in your low notes that you have been blaming on those dodgy reeds.
