And who is that "Mark"?
A neighboor, a friend, a boyfriend?
I have the same question. Who is Mark? And what mpc(s) are you describing? Give us at least some info!

I might as well say: "Hey, I told Marylou I'm looking for that perfect sound. She sent it to me now I got the perfect sound."

Yes I talk about Mark S. 10mfan........

A year ago I played a SBA with a Link --- then I changed to a Conn and Mark told me to try a Zimberoff Supersonic (somehow like the Link but more power/edge) what I was looking for...
Since some time I manly play a early S20 and I told him which sound I want and he sent me a Gale and it was what I was exactly looking for ...!!!
I always thought this gut is just expensive, but now I think when you buy from him ( My experience) you really get what you are looking for......

1st of all mark s. Is a friend a boston buddy. He is extremely knowledgable about saxophone, sound ,and how it feels. We all know no matter what piece you play ,you will sound like you , no matter what. Having said that , their is feel, articulation and a internal sound that we look for .
Mark s. Or 10mfan whatever you want to call him is a very considerate and thoughtful guy and cares for the products he sells .
You know it's funny ,but the first transaction with marl and i he bought from me. Since that i have gotten a berg tenor and my favorite clarinet and soprano piece came from him . He is the man " no doubt " . He is a friend & a collaborator. Mark know ,just ask !!!! Steve golden

I've dealt with Mark on numerous occasions, and it is ALWAYS a pleasure! He responds to emails VERY quickly (almost instantly), and you receive your item just as fast! Other sellers, take note. There's a reason people repeatedly go to him for equipment, and that's because they know he'll treat you right, and the product will be UNBELIEVABLE! Mark is the one I go to whenever I need or want a new piece of equipment! As we say in the Navy, Bravo Zulu Shipmate!

Another vote for Mark from me. Cured my gas with a piece which was half the price of today's modern prices....I knew exactly who the OP was referring to. I could have typed that post and also the post from memphissax.

Same here :). In trades he even shipped his piece before I did or before the money was transferred. His prices are high, but the quality and advice he gives is very good.

I would also chime in with a similar experience. I have known Mark for a while and now live close by in south Florida. I went to his house and he had several piece for me to try. He kept insisting that I try a Freddie Mark II hard rubber. I was skeptical, as I had tried Freddie's pieces in the past and wasn't that into them. I hadn't felt so comfortable on a piece in a long long time. It was a great experience for me. Mark is a great player and does understand the saxophone in a way that is pretty amazing. The only thing I could compare it to in terms of saxophone gear is when I had Mike Duchstein in Berlin take a look at my horn and after a brief discussion he knew exactly what I needed to have my horn set up for me perfectly. Many of my friends have joked with me over the years that I'm like the princess and the pea when it comes to my set ups on tenor and soprano. Mark asked great questions about my wind column, my approach, embouchure, reeds and a few others. He knew within a few minutes what would work for me.
I know that there have been many discussions recently about certain members knowledge base when it comes to gear and I understand that. Mark's knowledge of how a saxophone is supposed to play and helping players, even experienced (read stubborn) players like me find their sound is really exceptional. Thanks, Mark. I couldn't recommend a dealer, or a person, more highly.

Yes, Mark's the man what comes to mouthpieces! I've been struggling for a long time with my metal Links (not enough projection in band playing situations) and after a brief discussion with Mark I got a vintage stainless Berg 90/1 M offset from Mark and it's been the best investment for my tenor by far! Excellent communication, fast packing&shipping and the amount of knownledge he has. Highly recommended!

I opened this thread with no idea who the OP was referring to. Ironically enough I bought a Sax Gourmet Fatboy Tenor mp from 10Mfan today... And yes, Mark is a great person to do business with. Immediate email responses. Great communication. Top notch in my book!
