Hi, in this video I played "Have you met miss Jones" in different time signatures: 7/4 5/4 3/4 (and the original 4/4).
Playing the head in the new time signatures is form me the first step to enter into the "odd times world".
In this video I played the head, in the next one I will talk about improvisation.
Hope you enjoy the video, bye
Fabrizio

@atmartin50 Thank you. For me it is a good exercise to figure out how to compress or stretch the melody's fragments to fit the new time signature. By doing it you start also to understand the new feel and the new groove that the new time signature brings to the tune.
@swperry1 Thank you. You are right, the bridge is not easy, definetly! To me it is the Trane changes stepfather!

Re: Agen Situs IDN Slot

Agen Situs IDN Slot delapancash adalah situs terpercaya dengan minimal deposit termurah se-indonesia. Delapancash menyediakan provider Slot ternama yang sedang viral
That's in Indonesian. It translates as: "Agent Site IDN Slot delapancash is a trusted site with the cheapest minimum deposit in Indonesia. Delapancash provides well-known slot providers that are viral."

What that has to do with Miss Jones I can't imagine.

@10mfan Thank You. Oh yes, the situation is getting more and more complicated. But We all sure see better times.
@Swaman thank You, playing a tune in a different time signature brings an another perspective and is worth experimenting.
Max Ionata is a great player and friend. I have released a record with him (a 2 saxophone project), you gave me the idea to discuss about it in an another vlog.
The record was released by Alfa Music in 2013: "Crossthing" Fabrizio D'Alisera 4tet feat. Max Ionata.
Playing with Max and trading solos with him has been a great experience to me.
This is the title track if you want to check it out

Hi, I here is the second part of the video. Instead of creating a new thread I thought it was more logical to continue here.
Here I played some improvisation on "Miss Jones" in 3/4, 5/4 and 7/4.
I discussed what I think could be the most useful elements to keep in mind to deal with odd time signatures.
Hope you find it useful, feel free to chime in with any comment or advice that can help to practice odd times, it is difficult for me!
