Very sorry to hear this - anyone who's listened to Eric Alexander has heard Harold play with him...but do yourself a favor & check out some of the recordings with Harold as a leader too. Always very tasteful playing - and he was sharing his talent right up until the very end.

Sad to hear. I loved his playing, saw him live a few times and met him once. A really great player who could do it all.

He played essentially to the very end. I saw him on the Smalls live feed within the last month. Playing well, I might add.

He will be missed.

Saw him a couple of times with George Coleman. Fantastic player (well, both of them).

I just saw Harold at the jazz fest here in Rochester back in June. He was great! He played with George Coleman that night. Funny thing is, I was worried about George as he could barely walk and sat while he played, but he played great as well. RIP Harold, your gift of great music lives on ...

I was very sorry to hear of his death. He was one of the great ones, that's for sure.
