Hmm, yesterday my dad became 94 (still alive), today the Hawk's 115th anniversary, not a bad week for me!
One of my favourite albums of Hawk is with Roy Eldridge, recorded live at Bayou Club, Washington D.C.. In that time he toured with Roy though the USA and they performed with local rhythm sections. This recording has Coleman Hawkins (ts), Roy Eldridge (tp), Don Wilson (p), Bob Decker (b) and Buddy Dean (d).
