Hey SOTW!

I had this urge to create something useful today, so I decided to attempt a simple SpringHook. So here's the result, tell me what you think :

...grooved for pushing needle springs into place and hooked for pulling springs onto cradles...

That should work on youor average sax! We use various sizes of crochet hooks from 1.0 to 2.6 mm and custom file the "V" push groove in the hooked tip using a needle file, without the need to flatten the sides. Primarily for use on small to medium sized instruments with springs which are generally small by nature. For larger insts and springs I use the Music Medic spring hook Curt offered me years ago, which is like yours only better looking..

if I were selling these, I would only charge $4.00 haha

but yea, it is a bit large for smaller instruments.
