hey I was wondering if anyone out there who's had the pleasure of studying with one of the greats: George Garzone, Jerry Bergonzi, Joe Henderson, or whoever, could share something from the lesson. Anything would be great-- just a funny story, an exercise that really helped, or anything else you wouldn't mind sharing. I'm sure we'd all appreciate it!

Had a lesson with Peter King. He's a UK based Alto player. The exercise he said was for ear training. Every standard has it's own key and traditional start point.

Pick a random note and try and play a standard starting on that note. That's it. Sound's easy but is harder than it looks and will really help your ear.
