dont have a clue. these mpcs arnt know for being great players on any size sax let alone bari. worst metal mpc i have ever played in my very long career. their sole claim to fame is they were around when there wasnt much else to choose from in metal mpcs.

Traded a 1952 Selmer BA Alto for a Selmer 55A,LowA Bari Sax in like new condition with a guy that was just too old to play bari anymore. The sax came with a GUY HAWKINS 7 that I didn't pay as much attention as I should have until now. In my opinion - THEY SING!!! Play altissimo well and go to the dungeon very very well. Only problem I have is doing low note excerces going from low Bb to D and back produces hesitation. I am hoping to try a hard rubber like a berg115/120I only I can produce the playablility as with berg and Cannonball tenor.

Anyway, there may be superior metal mpcs to the Hawkins, but for what I have, I will play it anywhere. ; :bluewink:
Can anyone explain why this went for so much?: http://www.ebay.com/itm/300620235776?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_500wt_1413

I know pieces in larger tips tend to go for more, but I was surprised at the final price of this one. Especially since you never hear much of anyone playing a Guy Hawkins, much less on bari. Does anyone else have experience with these?

I have a brass Guy Hawkins 9 that I had refaced (it was pretty beat), plays well, needs to be pulled out pretty far on my The Martin but it does have a decent size chamber, but more baffle than my RPC rollover. It's a potentially pretty rowdy mouthpiece and sounds good. Was a mess before the refacing. Worth owning, it does its own loud raunchy thing, not a good main piece at least for me.
