I didn't listen to the original of this track so as to play with a little more freedom from what Nelson did with it. It's a fairly simple chart but very nicely done by Martin Funderburk. Getting the pace right and not being too busy seemed to be the key. Anyway, thank you for listening if you have time. Alex

Smooth and silky! Great playing, thats a fun tune. You've got that smooth alto tone nailed. I've never been able to get near that sound!

The tone is more by luck than design Jared :) Nelson plays a very obvious melody and takes a really nice solo but I just wanted to steer clear of any influence so decided to listen to that after I'd recorded my take on it. The chords are fairly simple and don't ask for a lot. It's the phrasing and articulation and where you put the notes that makes the thing whole. Still a work in progress there for me.
