Ok, I'm "large both ways" (6'2", 380), finding my Protec harness just doesn't cut it with my Bari. Anyone have any recommendations for a harness that distributes / pads the weight better? I find it's a little better standing, but sitting is just impossible, requires too much weight carrying and stabilizing from my hands. Also needs to be fairly height / length adjustable (having trouble finding a good spot that puts the mouthpiece at a comfortable mouth position).

I play bari in a local "small" big band and have found the Vandoren Support System Harness works well for me. It is a bit more expensive than some of the others, but it distributes the weight of the instrument in such a way that makes it comfortable to play.

I’m tallish at 6’3” and weight in at 85kg.
I use an old neotech soft harness and find it adjusts right the way through from alto to Baritone.
When I’m not using this I use a single shoulder strap that I made from a case strap.

When I bought my bari (second hand) in february, The Jazzlab Saxholder was included in the package, I find it gives a very good distribution of the weight of the instrument. And from what I have read, the new version is improved at some points.

I don’t know if I would recommend the Saxholder for sitting.
It’s amazing standing. You should be able to adjust the angle of the shoulder bars.

I just got an Adorence. It isn’t nearly as comfortable as the Saxholder.
I am using it for smaller horns and just as an option to the Saxholder

I tried the SaxRax SaxStick for sitting, it's a strange contraption but actually works quite nicely, I'm liking it a lot. I still use a regular strap too for stability, but it no longer carries any weight and is much more comfortable.

I'm 6"3" 200 pounds. I have tried and sold many harnesses because I can't use a neck strap. Even on alto. I stuck with the SaxHolder. As said above, it's not quite as comfortable sitting as standing. I moved the stomach pad to the right side of my body and it helped a lot.
