Hi all,

I'm thinking of putting together a tour abroad with my group, and heard that Germany has got a pretty good scene. Could anyone out there recommend some good towns/clubs to check out?

Thanks very much.

p.s. practically everything shuts down in July and August. If you have problems contacting people that doesn't mean that business is always slack or that they are closing their doors. This is just the way it is in summer, expecially when the kids are ouit of school.

Gary, thank you so much for taking the time to reply to this message! Amazing stuff, I didn't expect all that! If there's ever anything I can do in return...

Hope the saxophone is treating you well!

No problem. Personally, if you're coming from the UK, I'd pick up some gigs in the Netherlands along the way.

If it were me, I'd probably do Holland and Germany and work my way up to Denmark (Copenhagen, Arhus, Odense) then take a seriously cheap Ryan Air flight back "home".

(Well - actually . . . if it were me, I'd stay there!)

I'm planning to be in Berlin for three weeks this May, followed by a few days in Bamberg. Gary (or anyone else), do you have any further recommendations for Berlin (since I'm going to be there for a while), and can you also recommend venues in Franconia (W眉rzburg, N眉rnberg, Bamberg)?

Any more recommendations specifically for Munich? Going to be there in a week on holiday, so interested in listening not playing.
