I got a chance to catch the George Burton Quartet at Chris' Jazz Cafe on Sansom St. here in my city Philadelphia...
If anyone ever gets the chance to check them out, please do so, Burton is very talented by my estimation.
The unfortunate thing was that my favorite piece that the quartet played tonight was only just finished being written today.... so it has no name and isn't posted any where.
The Saxophonist in the quartet was also very good... but I didn't write his name down so now I've forgotten it. :x He's not in either of the videos on his MySpace, so I get the impression he was either filling in or is new to the quartet, and in fact neither was the bassist I saw tonight.
